All rooms lead onto a large private terrace with outside lighting, which has a table, chairs, and sun loungers and access to the beautiful, large shared swimming pool (approx 9.50m x 13m), as well as landscaped communal gardens and BBQs. There are 2 secure underground parking spaces with a lift and video entry system.

There are shops, a mini market, a newsagent, cafes, bars and restaurants, a hairdresser's and a bakery within and around the complex itself and the prestigious Alto Golf course is only 5 mins away, with many other fine courses within easy reach. Some of the best beaches in the Algarve, such as Praia de Rocha and Praia do Vau are easily accessible.

This is a large, light and airy room which has double patio doors with electric security shutters leading onto the terrace with a view of the pool and gardens. There are two 3 seater leather sofas, one of which converts into a comfortable double bed. There is a stylish fully extendable dining room table with six leather chairs ideal for special dining occasions. The room also has a T.V, DVD and hi-fi, a large coffee table and shelving with mood lighting and a reading light. There is a high quality air conditioning unit which also supplies heat, therefore making it ideal and comfortable for anytime of year.


There are two large bedrooms both with high quality air conditioning/heating units.

The large en-suite bedroom has a huge fitted triple wardrobe with drawers, a king size bed and two bedside tables with lamps. This room has two double doors leading onto the terrace which over looks the pool.

The large en-suite shower room is fully equipped with a vanity unit, sink, mirror with lighting, towel rails and a hydro-massage shower. A hairdryer is supplied. It is tiled wall to ceiling with beautiful, stylish ceramic marble tiles.

Bedroom 2 has twin beds which can be pushed together and two bedside tables with lamps. It also has a very large fitted triple wardrobe with drawers. This has views of the garden and pool and double doors leading onto the terrace.

As well as the en-suite, there is a family bathroom with wc, sink, bidet and large hydro massage Jacuzzi bath with over head shower. There is a large vanity unit with a mirror and lighting and towel rails. It is tiled wall to ceiling with beautiful ceramic marble tiles.

This is a large modern, fully fitted and equipped kitchen with high quality facilities including a chrome oven and hob, extractor fan, dishwasher, washing machine and fridge/freezer. On the beautiful black granite work tops we have supplied a microwave, toaster, kettle and a coffee machine for that all important morning cuppa on the terrace or at the kitchen table.

This room is also tiled wall to ceiling with gorgeous ceramic marble tiles. There is a large lockable, walk in storage cupboard with huge shelves where we have supplied an Ironing board, iron, clothes airers, high chair, vacuum cleaner, dustpan and brush etc and there is plenty of room for your belongings too, golf clubs etc!

All rooms have double doors with electric shutters leading onto this beautifully positioned, very spacious terrace.

There is a large wooden patio table and six chairs (two of which recline), ideal for al fresco dining or just enjoying an evening drink. In the evening the grounds are lit up by soft lighting surrounding the pool and landscaped gardens and plants making this an ideal place for sitting at night and admiring the pool view and relaxing. There are four outside lights also to illuminate the terrace.

The apartment is ideal for families with small children as the large secure terrace has a lockable gate to the pool area and is enclosed by toughened safety glass. As the terrace overlooks the pool, you can keep an eye on older children whilst relaxing on the terrace. The pool has a sectioned off shallow children's pool (approx. 3m x 4m with depth 70cm) and there is also a children's play area close by. We also supply facilities such as a high chair and a cot at no extra charge.

Cleaning/Towels/Linen/Maid Service

Towels and bed linen are provided for each bathroom/bedroom. The house is professionally cleaned before and after guests arrive. An interim clean/linen change is available on request, at a fee payable locally to our cleaners. Price on request. Please bring your own beach towels as towels provided are for use in the apartment only.

The complex

There are shops, a mini market for basic provisions, a newsagent, cafes, bars and restaurants, a hairdresser's and a bakery for fresh bread and pastries in the morning all within minutes walk in and around the complex. There is a bus service which runs every 15 mins from the complex to Alvor town and Portimão. There is a communal children's play area in the centre of the complex with plenty of space for the children to run around. There are plenty of taxis available and a taxi ride into town will cost approx just under 4 euros.

Just outside the complex are more supermarkets, such as 'Ali Super' and various restaurants one of which we highly recommend as it is very reasonably priced for excellent quality food called 'Por do sol'. It is easy walking distance (less than 10 mins walk) and people come from miles around to this restaurant. It serves Algarvian specialties, fish soup, smoked salmon, large selection of steaks, lamb caree, flambé prawns, monkfish cataplana and delicious flambé desserts. They also provide parking and have English speaking waiters.

Places to visit near to Alvor are the lively town of Portimão, the famous popular beaches of Praia da Rocha and Praia da Vau, and the nature reserve of Quinta da Rocha.


Also within easy reach are activities such as tennis, boat/fishing trips, big game shark fishing, kayaking, canoeing, dolphin watching, various water parks, sky diving, parachuting, water sports, kite boarding, bike rental, bird watching in the nature reserve of Quinta da Rocha, great shopping, local markets, historic towns and museums.


The Algarve is a golfers paradise and our apartment is ideally situated to take advantage of the best courses. The prestigious Alto Golf and Country Club is a only a 5 minute walk from the doorstep and was the last course to be designed by Sir Henry Cotton. It boasts the longest hole is Europe, the 15th at 660 yards.

The Penina Championship course also designed by Sir Henry Cotton is only a 5 min drive away.

Other courses nearby are: Quinta do Morgardo, Pestana Golf Resort, Palmares, Boavista Golf, Pinta and Gramacho. All of which are less than 20 mins drive away. For more info on Algarve golfing and on-line bookings please contact for details.

Eating out

Boasting around 200 restaurants and bars, Alvor has possibly the highest standard of eateries in the Algarve, you can find anything from beautifully grilled fresh fish, (sardines being in abundance) to chicken piri-piri, and lots of other traditional Portuguese specialties, or for a change you can sample some Chinese or Indian food, so much to choose from! Explore this ancient coastal village and it's quaint narrow streets to find the right restaurant for you.

The main beach (Praia da Alvor) is almost 3 miles long and you can be guaranteed a space even in the height of the season with ample parking. Along this beach area there are a number of small coves tucked under the cliffs to explore.

Praia do Vau with it's fine, soft sand curving gently round a sheltered bay is great for families with children and expansive enough for adults who want nothing more than to lie in the sun, away from the crowd, and read a good book. Interspersed with swimming in the calm waters and ambling off to find a lunch of freshly prepared sardines at the beach front restaurants.

Praia da Rocha is a beautiful beach, with long golden sands and spectacular rock formations. The beach is not only long, but also very wide and even at the height of summer there is plenty of room. It boasts a choice of watersports and boat trips. There is easy access to the bars and restaurants just behind the beach.

Alvor is blessed with a most beautiful protected harbour on the estuary of the Ria Alvor. The village is well located facing a natural lagoon opening onto the sea. The original 16th Century Parish Church was rebuilt after the earthquake of 1755 and still has a prime example in its main doorway of the great craftsmanship of the Manueline era of architecture. It was the only building that more or less survived from the earthquake of that time.

Getting there and getting about

Faro airport is 45 mins away, with daily flights from all over Europe with airlines such as Easyjet and Monarch.

Car hire is not essential, but recommended as there is so much to explore in the Region. Car hire and taxi transfers are easily available from airport. For car hire we suggest HolidayAutos and book in advance.
